The brief

Drum were approached by McLaren Applied on the design and development of a brand new standalone website. The client felt the previous website had a lack of flexibility within the CMS meaning that they were having to add content into pre-existing templates, when it would have been more suited to new templates, not to mention new brand guidelines which needed to be reflected.

The solution

Working with the client and their timelines, we phased the full design and development into sprint cycles dependent on priority. 

We started with their initial sitemap and created a technical scope and wireframing outling the website requirements. Once approved, we moved into the concept screen phase, working with the clients new brand guidelines. 

Our rationale throughout the process has been to design and develop a website that has strong visual impact using the technological images as a basis throughout the site. To accompany the copy, we added UI elements such as automatic hero header sliders with slight animation, dynamic hover states and static image icon treatments.

In order to keep the content up to date, we provided the client full access of the CMS for updating content throughout the site, including news, blogs, product catalogue and solutions.

With the site now launched, we are supporting the client with ongoing sprint cycles and site audits.
